The sculpture is installed in Chisholm Trail Crossing Park which marks the site of the Chisholm Trail crossing on Brushy Creek in Round Rock, Texas. Goin' to Water was funded by Edward Reyes Torres, Mary Zordan Torres, and Gloria Torres Zamarripa in honor of their parents and their pioneer ancestors. The longhorn steer is branded with the Torres Reyes registered brand.
