Inscription:  (On front of base:) 1757/Alexander Hamilton/1804 (On base below wreath:) TRUSTEES 1793 unsigned Description:  Full-length portrait of Alexander Hamilton. He wears 18th century costume with long overcoat, breeches, stockings and buckle shoes. His hair is pulled back in a ponytail. He holds a walking stick with his proper right hand; the tip of the stick rests on the ground near his proper right foot. He holds a tri-corner hat in his proper left hand. He carries a book, or sheaf of papers in his proper left hand. The bronze sculpture stands atop a granite pedestal. The front of the pedestal features a relief carving of a wreath decorated with ribbon.
