Description:
Full-length portrait of Alexander Hamilton. He wears 18th century costume with long overcoat, breeches, stockings and buckle shoes. His hair is pulled back in a ponytail. He holds a walking stick with his proper right hand; the tip of the stick rests on the ground near his proper right foot. He holds a tri-corner hat in his proper left hand. He carries a book, or sheaf of papers in his proper left hand. The bronze sculpture stands atop a granite pedestal. The front of the pedestal features a relief carving of a wreath decorated with ribbon.

Remarks:
The sculpture was a gift to the college from Thomas Redfield Proctor, a member of the board of trustees of the school. The sculpture was cast by Gorham Manufacturing Company, under the supervision of Mr. Riedinger. The sculpture was restored by Utica (NY) Surface Restoration.
