    Full-length figure of a World War I doughboy. He wears full military uniform including utility belt and helmet. His proper right hand is raised high and he holds a grenade in it. The bronze sculpture stands atop a concrete base.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was originally installed on the courthouse square, but was later moved to Allingham Park. The base of the sculpture was originally surfaced with marble and was inscribed with the following text: "This memorial is lovingly dedicated Dec. 5, 1926 to her valiant sons 1917-1918. We hold them in our grateful hearts with reverence and honor forever. (followed by 16 names)". At the time of the SOS! survey, the marble had been removed. IAS files contain copy of related excerpt from Sylvia Jones' "Wilbarger County", Wilbarger County Historical Commission, 1986, pg. 706.
