    Description: 
    Three full-length Korean War soldiers huddled around a campfire. All are dressed in rain gear with ponchos and helmets. The soldier on the proper right is kneeling at the small fire, tending it. The soldier in the middle sits on a crate, his rifle resting on his knee. The soldier on the proper left also sits on a crate, his rifle butt rests on the ground.

    Remarks: 
    A commemorative panel in front of the sculpture is engraved with the names of those Washington state citizens who died in the Korean War. In the center of the panel is engraved: THE FORGOTTEN WAR followed by Korean characters. Cost of the project was approximately $380,000; $310,000 from private donations and $70,000 from state matching funds. IAS files contain copies of related article from The Olympian, 1989; the pamphlet "To Memory: Washington State Veterans Memorials," Washington State Senate, n.d.; and "The Washington State Korean War Veteran's Memorial Fact Sheet".
