Remarks:
The sculpture was made possible by Delta Development through the Palm Desert Public Art Program. The sculpture symbolizes the misuse and manipulation of the desert by man. A raised band on a block near the base of the sculpture reads: Brian Painter 1991. IAS files contain an excerpt from the Civic Center Sculpture Walk Tour booklet.
