    A time capsule was buried under the front of the sculpture and is marked by a brass cap, inscribed: Time Capsule-Open Nov. 12, 2089. Seven bronze plaques around the sculpture list the names of Vietnam War veterans. Nearby marble plaque reads: Together we flew to battle/Hearts and blades pounding/Sharing fear and pain.../Parted yet together/We faced the unknown/You death,/the Future.../Tom Crosser 1988. Sculpture is lit at night.
