    A relief plaque, with inscriptions, showing a soldier holding a rifle in his proper right arm. Behind the soldier is a steamship. The plaque is mounted on a stone base, with rounded top.

    Remarks: 
    IAS files contain copies of The Columbus Dispatch (Columbus, OH), Aug. 17, 1988, and the Ohio State Journal (Columbus, OH), Aug. 24, 1937, pg. 1, 3. The sculpture was presented to the city by the National Auxiliary of the veterans. It was initially placed outside City Hall, but relocated in 1937 to be near other memorials in Battelle Riverfront Park.
