    Erected by American Legion, Anniston Post, in honor of the Calhoun County men who served in World War I. Approximate cost: $2,000. IAS files contain a copy of article from Anniston Star (Anniston, Alabama), May 3, 1987, which discusses the history of the monument, including the belief that the model for the soldier was a veteran named Walter Rylander.
