Description:
A square shaft topped by a figure of the Union standard bearer holding his flag in his proper left hand and a bugle in his proper right. The flag is at his side. Four bronze plaques at the base of the shaft depict 4 figures representing the four branches of the service: cavalry, infantry, artillery and navy.
