Description:
At the top of a tall column a Civil War color bearer stands holding a furled flag with his proper left hand. Around the column at the top is a border of stars, a shield, and an eagle. The middle part of the column is encircled by four acanthus leaf wreaths. The column is mounted on a two-tiered square base from which four large blocks project diagonally at each corner. Atop each block stands a male figure representing a branch of the service: Artillery on the northeast; Cavalry on the southeast; Infantry on the southwest; and Navy on the northwest. A low iron fence encircles the monument.
