    39 bells, one for each county in the state. Each bell has a nearby plaque in the shape of Washington state with shape of county within and identifying county, organization and former use of bells.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture cost $165,035.64 and was acquired in 1988. It was one of five artworks commissioned for the new convention center (total cost $329,000) through the State's Percent for Art Program.
    The bells were contributed by local centennial committees and commemorate Washington's centennial of 1989. Sizes range from church and school bells to small sheep bells. The bells are computer programmed to ring in sequence. Most of the bells are located on exterior along Pike Street, but some smaller bells are located indoors.
