Description:
A standing portrait a Anne Hutchinson with her proper right arm around the shoulders of a young girl standing by her side. Her head is raised to the sky and she clutches the Bible to her chest with her proper left hand. The figures are dressed in period attire consisting of long dresses, capes, and small caps. With her proper right hand, the little girl reaches out to hold onto the folds of Anne Hutchinson's skirt. The sculpture rests on a square base.

Remarks:
In 1638, Anne Hutchinson challenged the Massachusetts Bay Colony's religious hierarchy and was banished. The sculpture was a gift of the Anne Hutchinson Memorial Association and State Federation of Women's Clubs.
