    Description: 
    An abstract steel sculpture, dark brownish red in color, on a circular red brick base with steps. The larger bottom half is shaped like a cube that has been mostly hollowed out by circular/oval voids. The upper half is shaped like a cylinder that has most of its area voided by circles/ovals. The upper half was designed to be moved by the public, so that the sculpture's shape would change.

    Remarks: 
    Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kerry. The sculpture was designed with Kerry Park in mind, long before the Kerrys commissioned the piece to be done for the park that they had given to the city. The park and the sculpture overlook downtown Seattle. Nearby plaque reads: KERRY PARK/WAS GIVEN TO THE CITY OF SEATTLE IN 1927/BY/MR. & MRS. ALBERT SPERRY KERRY, SR./"SO THAT ALL WHO STOP HERE/MAY ENJOY THIS VIEW."
    IAS files contain a copy of an illustration from Seattle Arts Commission, "A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art," Seattle: Seattle Arts Commission, 1991; copies from Rupp, James M., "Art in Seattle's Public Places: An Illustrated Guide," Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1992, pg. 8, 207; and a copy of a related newspaper article from The Spokesman-Review (Spokane, WA), May 29, 1994, pg. F1-F8, which includes a photograph showing the sculpture's setting and a caption describing the sculpture's significance to Seattle. University of Washington, Henry Gallery, reported title as "Kinetic" and execution date as 1969; Seattle Arts Commission reported title as "Volumetric Space Frame" and execution date as 1969; Rupp's publication and Save Outdoor Sculpture survey reported title as "Changing Form" and execution date as 1971.
