    (Along the edges of the panels next to corresponding figure, vertically, incised:) MATTHEW MARK LUKE JOHN
    Description: 
    Two relief panels which join at a forty-five degree angle and extend out from a wall. Each panel contains the full-length figures of two apostles walking in profile. The apostles wear long robes and halos. Matthew and Mark are on the left panel, with Matthew on the left holding an open book in his proper left hand and his proper right arm extended downward, palm open. A kneeling angel is at his feet. Mark is before him on the right and holds an open book in his proper right hand, his proper left hand extended downward, palm open. A winged animal, perhaps a lion or horse, rests at his feet. On the right panel, Luke is on the left and holds an open book in his proper left hand, his proper right hand extended downward, palm open. A winged ox rests at his feet. John is behind him on the right, holding an open book to chest level. An eagle is by his feet.
