Remarks:
Existing sculpture was recast in 1955 from the original which was dedicated Oct. 11, 1892. The original was removed in the fall of 1955, because it had a broken hand and had deteriorated as a result of a 1930 cleaning. The recast sculpture stands in the same location as the original. The cost for recasting was about 5,000 dollars.
