Description:
Bust of performer Bill Cosby. He smiles with his mouth closed. His face has a golden brown patina. He wears a knit sweater patterned with a zig-zag squares design. The sweater has a very dark brown patina. The bust is mounted on a square brass plate top a rectangular, off-white cast stone pedestal.

The bust was commissioned to commemorate Bill Cosby's induction into the
Academy
of
Television
Arts
and
Sciences
Hall of Fame. Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Bill Cosby was the first African-American to star in a
television
series, "I Spy" (1965-1968). Cosby's
television
work also includes the popular family sitcom, "The Cosby Show" (1984-1992).
Architect Jan Scott designed the pedestal. The sculpture is cleaned every three months. IAS files contain a related article about the ATAS Hall of Fame.
