General La Fayette stands with his proper right arm reaching across his chest for a sword which he grasps in his proper right hand. He is dressed in military attire with a long cape hanging from his proper left shoulder The statue is atop a tiered base.

Remarks:
The sculpture commemorates General La Fayette, who assisted the American army during the Revolutionary War. The work was funded through Works Progress Administration. IAS files contain related newsclippings from Hollywood Citizen-News (March 23, 1937); Herald and Express (March 27, 1937); and the Los Angeles Examiner (March 31, 1937).
