    Description: 
    Bust of Queen Emma with her hair drawn up from her face and neck,and pinned or netted in a mass. She wears a tiara of leaf, vein-like incised lines with flattened round shapes along the horizontal central stem in her hair. A pendulum-shaped earring appears on her proper right ear. The left earring has broken off.

    Remarks: 
    The bust of Queen Emma, who was instrumental in bringing the Episcopal church to Hawaii and founding Queen's Hospital, was presented to Emma Square Park as a gift from Mrs. Walter F. Dillingham. Mrs. Myron A. Wick dedicated the bust in honor of her grandmother, Emma Louise Dillingham, who was the first regent of the Daughters of Hawaii. IAS files contain pages from the following book; Rappolt, Miriam E., "Queen Emma: a woman of vision," Press Pacifica, 1991, pg. 164-173.; and an article from the Honolulu Advertiser July 7, 1950.
