    George Nathaniel Curzon was created Baron Curzon in 1898, earl in 1911 and first Marquess Curzon of Kedleston in 1921. This portrait was commissioned by the Royal Geographical Society in 1914 in recognition of Curzon's presidency (1911-1914).
