Description:
The stone is carved in relief with an emblem depicting an eagle, its wings spread atop a shield, arrows held in one claw and olive branches held in the other. The eagle turns its head to look down at the olive branches. Behind the shield there is a banner carved in relief with an inscription reading: FRIENDSHIP, LOVE, AND TRUTH. The shield is carved in relief with the scales of justice, an open book, an

, a fasces, and a bow with arrows. On either side of the shield, the stone is carved in relief with the names of officers and committee members. Along the upper edge of the stone there is an inscription carved in relief.

Remarks:
One of 193 commemorative stones set into the interior walls of the Washington Monument. The stones were donated by states, cities, towns, organizations, individuals, and foreign countries in honor of George Washington. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Grand Lodge of Maryland donated the stone, which is located at the 200 ft. level.
