    Owner:
Heyburn Elementary School, 1405 Main Avenue, St. Maries, Idaho 83861
    Remarks:
The sculpture's original frame comes from a Texaco Oil man statue which dates back to the 1960's. The Texaco Oil Company discontinued their gas stations in northern Idaho and dismantled the statues. Rose Parker, with assistance from her husband Donald Parker, Bud Bryntesen, and other volunteers, transformed one of these statues into an Idaho logger, in honor of the town's basic industry. The sculpture was a gift to Heyburn Elementary School whose school mascot is the Lumberjacks. Rose Parker transformed the Texaco man into a figure depicting Paul Bunyan with the help of her husband, Donald Parker, Bud Bryntesen, and various volunteers. IAS files contain related essay.
