Description:
A monument with a granite block with a wagon
wheel
on each side, a curved bronze scroll placed over the top. On the back of the monument is a bronze medallion of the State of Wisconsin seal. The monument has a three-tiered rough-edge base.

Remarks:
The monument commemorates the involvement of the 5th Wisconsin Battery, 1st Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Corps at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War. It marks the position held by the regiment during the battle. It was placed by the State of Wisconsin and veterans. IAS files contain related excerpt from Jack Kerr's "Monuments and Markers of the 29 States Engaged at Chickamauga and Chattanooga," Collegedale, TN: The College Press, n.d. The monument is on the National Park List of Classified Structures No. 03250. IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
