Description:
A rectangular granite marker with a bronze relief plaque depicting a General Henry Knox's men transporting artillery from Fort Ticonderoga to Cambridge, Massachusetts in the winter of 1775-1776. On the right side of the plaque, a team of oxen pulls a cannon while a boy with a rod tends to them. A uniformed soldier wearing a long coat and a tricorn hat stands in the background. On the left side of the plaque, a map illustrates Knox's route from Fort Ticonderoga to Cambridge.

The monument was erected by the State of New York during the sesquicentennial of the American

. Lake George Battlefield Park was once known as Lake George Battleground Park.
