    Commissioned and funded by Monsignor Paul T. Carew to commemorate his twenty years at St. John's. Base is a gift of the Lincoln Monument Company. St. Jean Baptiste de la Salle, 1651-1719, founded the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1684, and was canonized in 1900.
