    Description: 
    A circular fountain on a granite platform in the shape of a Maltese cross. In the center of the fountain basin is the figure of Moses standing on a mass of rocks. In his proper left hand he holds a tablet. His proper right hand is pointing to the sky. There are four figures on the arms of the cross, Commodore John Barry, Archbishop John Carroll, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, and Father Theobald Mathew. Under each of these figures is a drinking fountain. The fountain basin is decorated with medallions of prominent Catholics who participated in the Revolution. The depictions include: George Meade, Colonel Stephen Moylan, Count Casimir Pulaski, Marquis de Lafayette, Comte de Grasse, Chief Orono of the Penobscot Indian Tribe, and the badge of the Temperance Union.

    Remarks: 
    The Catholic Total Abstinence Union of America erected this fountain to mark their participation in the Centennial of 1876. The fountain cost 50,000 dollars. It was damaged by lightning on June 18, 1910.
