The officer wears white trousers, and short navy jacket and a tall hat, both adorned with gold brocade trim. His arms are folded across his chest, and in his right hand he holds a baton. Strolling beside him on the left is a woman dressed in pink with a pink bonnet on her head. Strolling beside him on the right is a woman dressed in yellow with a yellow bonnet on her head and a pink parasol held over her shoulder.
