    Description: 
    A portrait bust of Samuel Badger, 1794-1857, dressed in nineteenth century garb of a coat, shirt, and tie. The bust is set within a curved niche in a classical temple-like structure topped with a pediment that is decorated with a star. The front of the base is decorated with the raised image of a sailing vessel on building ways.
