Remarks:
Pasaquan is the former home of Eddie Owens Martin, a folk artist who took the name St. EOM when he began to create the distinctive sculptures and paintings that cover his home and the grounds around it. At his death in 1986, Pasaquan and the four acres around it were willed to the Marion County Historical Society. IAS files contain a photocopy of a brochure entitled "Pasaquan: Eddie Owens Martin" published by The Pasaquan Society, Buena Vista, GA and an article from Southern Living 28 (Sept. 1993) that discuss the history of the entire Pasaquan folk art site. For related information see also Tom Patterson's "St. EOM in the Land of Pasaquan: The Life and Times and Art of Eddie Owens Martin," Winston-Salem, NC: Jargon Society, c1987.
