    Remarks: 
    Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cocke of South Padre Island, Texas commissioned the sculpture. Jessica McClure, then 18 months old, fell into an abandoned water well and her ordeal lasted 58 hours. She was lifted from the well in the arms of rescuers on October 16, 1987. This scene caught by photographer Scott Shaw of the Odessa American and won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography.
