    Description: 
    Full-length group portrait of Mrs. Davis (1843-1916) and her son, Livingston (1882-1932). Mrs. Davis is standing in a frontal pose with her proper right hand at her hip and her proper left arm around the shoulders of her son. She is wearing a long, dark dress with ruffles down the front and lace ruffles pinned at her neck. Her son stands beside her, leaning against her. His proper right arm is around his mother's waist and he holds his mother's hand at his shoulder with his other hand. He is wearing a white sailor suit, with knickers above his knees. He is also wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Both mother and son look directly at the viewer.
