    Provenance:
Bequest of Swope, Eugene, Mr. & Mrs., Tupper Lane, Summerville, South Carolina
    Remarks:
Sculpture was bequeathed to the Library by Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Swope, former Summerville residents. It has stood in the Swopes' garden as a sundial. At the time of the Save Outdoor Sculpture survey, the figure was located inside the Library. "Timmy" has since become the logo of Library. The English translation to the French inscription is "Remember, child, that I will be marking the time that is lost." IAS files include an excerpt from an unpublished manuscript at the Library.
