    Description: 
    Memorial relief tablet featuring along the upper edge the insignia of the Marine Corps, an eagle perched atop a globe over an anchor encircled by a ribbon inscribed with SEMPER FIDELIS. Along the lower edge is a relief of an aviation badge featuring a United States shield with wings.

    Remarks: 
    The relief tablet was formerly installed in Quantico, Virginia at Brown Field, which was named in honor of Walter Vernon Brown (1895-1921), a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps who was killed while flying at Quantico, Virginia. IAS files contain a short biographical sketch for Walter Vernon Brown and illustrations of the dedication ceremony.
