Description:
An elderly couple sit together on a bench. The man, who is on the right, rests both hands on his cane that is between his legs. The woman touches his proper right arm with her proper right hand and holds an open, heart-shaped valentine in her lap with her proper left hand. She rests her head on his temple and closes her eyes. Faint smiles touch their lips. The woman wears her hair back in a bun with a fringed shawl draped over her shoulders and a cameo pin at the neckline of her blouse. A handbag rests next to her proper right side. The man wears a woven and checked sweater vest, bow tie and cap. The clothing displays a variety of brown tones. The sculpture is mounted on a flat concrete base.

Remarks:
The sculpture is number seven of an edition of twenty-one. The sculpture was donated to Freedom Village, a retirement community, by the Lumir Corporation. At one time, the sculpture was located next to the main entrance of the complex. IAS files contain a undated article from The Holland Sentinel, pg. A1 and A3.
