    Description: 
    A bust of playwright and screenwriter Paddy Chayefsky wearing a turtleneck under a jacket, his head tilted downward and slightly to the proper left. He wears glasses and has a deeply furrowed brow, thick hair, a short beard, and moustache. The bust has a shiny dark brown patina and tapers from the shoulders.

    Remarks: 
    The bust was commissioned to commemorate Paddy Chayefsky's induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame in 1984. The bust was one of several pieces in place for the May 4, 1991 dedication of the Academy's new headquarters. The bust's selection and placement were overseen by the Hall of Fame Sculpture Committee, chaired by architect Jan Scott. Scott also designed the base.
