Acquired from Davis, Arthur Fuller, Acton, Massachusetts 1927.

Originally Mark White's Tavern built circa 1753, the building was painted by Davis around 1890. Other proprieters included Mark White's son; and Jonas Putney, grandfather to Chester Robbins, who had it from 1899 to 1934, as a residence. Robbins' wife continued to live in the building until her health declined. The building was razed in 1970.
