    Remarks: 
    Gibran, renowned poet, artist, and philosopher, left his native Lebanon in 1895 and settled in Boston's South end. His book "The Prophet" was written and illustrated in Boston. The plaque was created by Gibran's nephew. IAS files contain dedication proclamation from the City Council and Boston Mayor.
