Description:
A portrait of General Dwight D. Eisenhower dressed in full uniform, with a visored hat and a waist-length jacket with a banded bottom. He stands with both hands on his hips. The sculpture is placed on a five-sided pedestal, inscribed on each side with quotes and insignia from his career. The entire piece is set within a circular foundation with raised stars, encircled by a fence.

Remarks:
The sculpture was cast by the artist in Florence, Italy. The firm Dwight Brown and Associates (Topeka, Kansas) designed the base and the surrounding plaza. Plaque in front of sculpture reads: A GIFT TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES/FROM/HARRY DARBY - U.S. SENATOR KANSAS/DEDICATED JUNE 15, 1985. IAS files contain brochure from the Eisenhower Museum and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library; and excerpt from the magazine Kansas! (1990).
