    Remarks:
In late December 1977, hundreds of individual pieces for the sculpture arrived in the Inner Harbor and the sculpture was assembled on site while visitors watched over a period of twelve days. The artist was assisted by several Mary Institute College of Art students, and a cherry picker to reach to the higher sections. The artist calls the piece a structural sculpture that has to do with how things are put together with tension and compression, a pulling and pushing, which work together to create a stable balance of forces. The sculpture cost $150,000 and was selected by the Charles Center-Inner Harbor Advisory Committee on Public Works of Art. The inscription on a nearby marker reads: Easy Landing/by Kenneth Snelson/Commissioned by the/City of Baltimore/William Donald Schaefer, Mayor/Dedicated January 29, 1978.
