IAS files contain transcription of nearby plaque; copies from Seattle Arts Commission, "A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art," Seattle: Seattle Arts Commission, 1991, including pg. 132; and copies from Rupp, James M., "Art in Seattle's Public Places: An Illustrated Guide," Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1992, pg. 117-118. The sculpture's execution date is given as 1961 in Rupp's "Art in Seattle's Public Places," and Rupp states that the sculpture was given to the city in 1961. The sculpture's completion date is given as 1962 in "A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art," and the University of Washington's Henry Gallery also reported the execution date as 1962. Save Outdoor Sculpture, Washington survey, reported the dedication date as March 21, 1962.
