    Description: 
    Sheridan stands wearing a Union uniform which consists of a knee-length double breasted jacket, wide-brimmed hat, and boots with spurs. He hold a sword at his proper left side. His proper left leg is slightly forward and he stares off to his proper left. He has a moustache and a goatee. The sculpture rests on a square base which is surrounded by bushes and a black iron fence.

    Remarks: 
    The General Sheridan Memorial Committee, organized in 1924, raised $6,000 through public subscription to fund the memorial. The dedication datae was selected to coincide with the 72nd anniversary of General Sheridan's victory at the battle of Cedar Creek in the Shenandoah Valley.
