    Description:
A figure of a seated World War I soldier in uniform, places his proper left arm around the back of a young boy who stands next to him. The boy is dressed in a shirt, knickers, socks and shoes and holds a book tucked under his proper left arm. The boy's proper right hand, balled into a fist, extends across in front of the soldier. The sculpture is placed atop a two-tiered base decorated with a plaque that depicts a profiled female figure. Her proper left hand is placed over the top of a shield and her proper right hand is held up to her face. A helmet, gun, and possibly a canteen are placed at her feet. Eleven stars on the shield denote the eleven young men from Orange who gave their lives in World War I. The sculpture and base rest atop a cement foundation.
