    Description: 
    The figure of a woman in period clothing sitting in an ornate chair, with open book in her lap. A cherub stands at her proper right and an angel with wings spread stands behind her. The angel holds a trumpet and large feather by its side in its proper left hand; and holds a wreath above the seated figure's head. The angel also holds a bunch of roses in her proper left arm and a scroll reading "Enacted by the/General Assembly/of the State of/South Carolina" in its proper right hand. The sculpture is located in a recessed areas of the capitol complex.
