    Description: 
    Standing figure of Nathan Hale with his hands tied behind his back. He is dressed in simple period attire. The figure is mounted atop a tapered base that features a laurel wreath relief on its front and inscriptions on front and back.

    Remarks: 
    Nathan Hale (1755-1776), an American Revolutionary hero, was a Continental army captain who spied on the British on Long Island. He was captured and hanged by the British. The monument was the gift of the Nathan Hale Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. IAS files contain copies from the Saint Paul Pioneer Press (St. Paul, MN), July 11, 1907, pg. 3, discussing the dedication.
