Trask was a founder of a commission to revitalize Saratoga, one of the country's leading health resorts at the time. The winged angel embodies the spirit of buoyancy and life. The raised left arm holds a basin from which water was to flow and thus suggests the health-giving waters of Saratoga; the right hand raises a pine branch, a symbol of Mr. Trask.
