    Description:
An abstract/non-objective sculpture which is architectural in nature, due to its large size and the methods of construction. The two main granite elements are triangular in shape, with one pointing northeast and one pointing southwest. The two pieces look as though they were carved from the same block, with the marks of the drill and perhaps a small explosive device making a stitch-like pattern along the cut edges of the stone. The aluminum elements of this work are placed at a right angle to the axis of the granite elements and form a slatted vertical wall to the northwest side. To the southeast side the aluminum panels form a slatted horizontal roof and connect the tops of the granite forms.
The gray color of the stone and the dull gray of the oxidized aluminum are close in value and form a subtle visual relationship. Light plays on this piece and creates a changing pattern of shadows. This sculpture symbolizes the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha Rivers.
