    Description: 
    Several pieces of statuary are installed within the chancel of St. Matthew's Church. The central statue on the altar is Christ the Good Shepherd. He is flanked by lily-bearing Mary on the left and St. Matthew on the right. Also on the altar are statues which depict the four missionaries who brought Christianity to the British Isles: St. Hugh of England, St. Patrick of Ireland, St. Ninian of Scotland and St. David of Wales. Statues on the rood beam represent St. Paul, St. Mary, the Christus, St. John and St. Peter. The lectern includes figures of the prophet Isaiah with outstretched arms, St. John the Baptist with staff, David with a harp and Moses with the decalogue.
