Description:
Two seated figures, a young man and woman, shyly face each other. The man's stance is casual, with his proper left leg crossed under his other leg, while the woman's carriage is more demure. They both wear simple, unadorned clothing; he long trousers and plain shirt with rolled up sleeves, and she a short-sleeved ankle-length dress.

Remarks:
Part of a series entitled "Woman-A Precious Jewel," which includes seven smaller replicas of statues located in Nauvoo, Illinois. A plaque in the Women's Monument Garden contains the series title, individual statue titles and original poetry by S. Dilworth Young, former director of the Temple's Visitors Center. The poetry is inscribed in the base of each statue, and the garden features a tape recorded narration for each piece.
