    Description:
A shrine consisting of a tall pylon in the center of a semicircular stepped wall surrounding a stone floor and ascending steps. In front of the pylon, the Virgin Mary stands atop a globe on a projecting pedestal. The figure of the Virgin Mary wears a cinched tunic and a long outer garment. Her hair is covered with a veil and her hands are placed together in a gesture of prayer. A snake is curled around the top of the globe and holds an apple in its mouth. Mary's proper right foot is placed atop the snake. Above the Virgin Mary on the pylon is a large cross. Beneath the Virgin Mary on the front of the pedestal is an abstract symbol of two hands holding a globe topped with a cross. The figure of de Mazenod kneels on the upper step in front of the pedestal wearing a religious habit and a long cloak that covers his feet to the rear. His hands are placed together in a gesture of prayer. The entire shrine is located on a small island in the center of a pond. The island is connected to the mainland by a small bridge.
