ITS LEFT EXTENDED TO ROULETTE'S LANE BELOW IT WENT INTO BATTLE BY WAY OF ROULETTE'S FARM BUILDINGS, ABOUT 9.30 AM AND DRIVING BACK THE ENEMY, MAINTAINED ITS POSITION AT AND IMMEDIATELY NORTHEAST OF THIS POINT ON THE HIGH GROUND OVERLOOKING BLOODY LANE. UNTIL 1.30 O'CLOCK, PM WHEN WITHDRAWN TO REPLENISH ITS EXHAUSTED AMMUNITION AND THEN OCCUPIED THE RESERVE LINE signed
Description:
Full-length figure of a uniformed infantryman of the Union army stands on a tiered base. The figure holds his rifle by his proper right leg with both hands around the barrel. There is a bed roll atop the base on either side of the figure. A medallion of Colonel Henry I. Zinn is affixed to the front of the base. The colonel is bearded and in uniform. The Corps emblem of a three-leaf clover appears in relief on the sides of the pedestal.

Remarks:
Colonel Henry I. Zinn was the commander of the regiment. He later fell at Fredericksburg. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures (LCS no. 109). IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form.
