Medium:  Sculpture: bronze, painted; Base: concrete topped with bronze plate. Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. 29 x 20 x 15 1/2 in.; Base: approx. 37 x 32 x 32 in. Inscription:  (Proper right, below shoulder:) ZUNIGA (Plaque on front reads:) GENERAL IGNACIO ZARAGOZA/DEFENSOR DE LA REPUBLICA MEXICANA/VICTORIOSO CONTRA LA INVASION/EXTRANJERA, EL 5 DE MAYO DE 1862/EN PEUBLA. (The plaque on the right side reads:) BUSTO DONADO POR EL GENERAL/FELIX GALVAN LOPEZ/SECRETARIO DE LA DEFENSA/NACIONAL DE MEXICO/5 DE MAYO 1981 signed Description:  A bronze portrait bust of General Ignacio Zaragoza, dressed in military jacket. His wears eyeglasses and the entire face, most of the hair, neck, collar, epaulets, buttons and thinner areas of the jacket are painted a metallic gold. The busts sits on a square bronze plinth atop a concrete base. There are two painted bronze text plaques secured to the base.
